About

Dr. James earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, and also holds degrees in Biochemistry and Social Sciences from the Stevens Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, an EXOS Performance Specialist, and a Champion Performance Therapy and Training Specialist. He is certified by OnBaseUniversity, Driveline Baseball, and K-Motion. Dr. James has worked with professional athletes in the MLB, NFL, NHL, along with Division 1 Baseball and Soccer Players, and marathon runners, and youth athletes. He was founding therapist for a hybrid physical therapy startup company and most recently founded his own physical therapy company, Lifelong Strong Health, where he delivers high level rehab and training services to his clients in their homes, private gyms, and virtually. Dr. James particularly loves to work with older adults by helping them gain strength, balance, and confidence in order to not just improve their lifespan, but their healthspan! Dr. James strongly believes in a person-centered approach to healthcare, and studied this during his mentorship program with First Principles of Movement. Assisting people who have chronic conditions requires reassurance and reactivation, fostering a positive experience with movement, and finding the hardest thing a person can do well in order to optimize outcomes. Dr. James loves spending time with his extremely supportive wife and superstar son. He is a lover of all sports, but baseball was his first love and will always be a die hard supporter of his New York Yankees, as well as his Knicks and Jets. You’ll catch him powerlifting in the gym and walking his fluffy dog Bear on an average day.
